According to Tchadinfos, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy paid a working visit to N’Djamena on 16 September 2026. Chad’s Telecommunications Minister noted that the landlocked country is focusing on diversifying its connectivity routes, highlighting Nigeria’s BRIDGE project, an open-access national fibre network of around 90,000 km.
Why it matters
For a landlocked country, adding international fibre routes reduces dependence on a single corridor and improves service continuity, a direct concern for operators, banks and public bodies.
